The News articles that are posted by each Section/Ops are shown on their microsite but also shared on the national site. You can create a news article by clicking on News Articles under the Content tab in the CMS:
You then click the green button Add News Article on the far right.
You will need to create a title for the News Article, and the CMS will automatically create a slug for it (custom URL for that page). You can determine when you publish the news, by publishing now or scheduling in the future.
You must upload two images for a News Article. The first is a teaser image, which is displayed in the news feed, along with the teaser text -- which is generally the first few lines or paragraph of your press release or news story.
The second image will be the header for your News Article page.
You must also include an Introduction for a News item, which will be shown in larger font at the beginning of your article. In the example below you can see the introduction is "In the October edition of Going the Distance, we meet some inspiring members of the Flying Doctor family."
Don't forget your Meta title and Meta data, which are vital for search engine optimisation and will help Google find the news and make it more readily available under searches.
Then use different Content types to create your article.
When you are done you press SAVE. To preview it before publishing, put the published date in advance and then click VIEW ON SITE. You are then able to make changes before you publish.
